San Diego-based artist Debbie Solan, works in a multitude of mediums. Originally from Dublin, Ireland, she views life through an imaginative spectrum. Color and its ability to affect mood motivates her design choices, and are ultimately reflected in her innovative and original works of art. Environmental art is also a passion as she believes that art can touch the soul and encourage actual change in real life.
Co-founder of Fusionglass Co. in La Mesa, CA.. (2003-2019) a working studio and gallery. Debbie promoted the arts in the community through exhibitions, events, teaching programs and an open studio policy that encouraged the community to drop in and create.
Since closing the gallery in September 2019 she is focusing on creating a series of online tutorials, exploring her creativity in a new private studio, teaching workshops, and keeping her online store well-stocked with beautiful one of a kind items.
Not one to limit herself by genre, Debbie's passion for art finds appreciation in all of its forms. She has experience that ranges from ceramics, kiln fused glass, painting, photography & mosaics, to fashion & theatrical design. Her love of art is lifelong, self-taught and compulsive. Equally passionate about the environment, she works to foster a sense of stewardship through large-scale art installations created from recycled, upcycled or salvaged materials.
